Students, as part of their academic curriculum, are allowed to perform a Work-Based Learning Experience, provided they are in good academic standing, are meeting course content, have no citizenship or attendance issues, and have teacher recommendations. Before a student can participate, a Training Agreement and a Training Plan must be on file with the Placement Office in Student Services.
Time Cards are due by the end of the day every Friday. This requirement is strictly enforced due to Department of Education regulations. Failing to submit time cards can result in the suspension or termination of the Work-Based Learning placement.
Students find your Work-Based Learning Time Cards, Safety Scavenger Hunt, and Preliminary Hours Reportshere.
Questions can be directed to Mr. Roberts, the GCI Work-Based Learning Specialist. He is located in the main office and can be reached at (810) 591-3230 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
