The Genesee ISD Board of Education is pleased to announce James B. Johnson as its newest board member. The board selected Johnson during a public meeting Monday, July 9, 2018, after holding public interviews with board member candidates. The vacated seat became available recently when Dale Green relocated out of state after serving 13 years on the board. Johnson will fulfill the remainder of Green’s term, until June 30, 2019.
Johnson is the Technology Director at Lewis & Knopf CPAs, P.C. He is currently the president of the Carman-Ainsworth School Board, where he has served for four years. Johnson also serves on the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Government Relations Committee.
Johnson said he is encouraged by the opportunities the Genesee Intermediate School District is providing to the area, and he is excited to join in and be part of the progress.“I have personally benefitted from the programs provided by the Genesee Intermediate School District,” said Johnson. “Therefore, I know what an important role GISD has in our community. I believe my experience and drive to support public education will make me an asset to the GISD School Board.”
