Whether teaching the EDP process or reading novels, Jesse Nardizzi from Goodrich High School believes in the value of integrating careers into his courses. Courses include General English, Creative Writing, AP English and College English.

ELA teacher Nick Popadich from Grand Blanc High School says that it isn’t difficult to make career-relevant connections and the result in student motivation is worth it. Popadich says that teachers can breathe new life into what they already teach to make learning more fun. Students look at how characters’ goals impact their lives and discover skills that are needed to be successful. He also uses themes in a multi-genre project to teach literature and allows students to develop their own project ideas to link relevant choices to rigorous classroom content.
