Career Technical Education

Tech Prep

Tech Prep requires that regional partners work together to develop "seamless" curricula that successfully transitions students from secondary to postsecondary education. This curricula must clearly be aligned and provide for a sequence of curriculum competencies, courses and outcomes that include two years at the secondary level (grades 11 and 12) and two years at the postsecondary level culminating in a two-year certificate, associate degree or two-year registered apprenticeship. In addition, Tech Prep federal funds are targeted to provide professional development/training for CTE instructors countywide to assure programs are aligned to business/industry standards.
