Advanced Placement ProgramThe Advanced Placement (AP) Program allows high school students to earn college credit while still in high school. The College Board urges students to study the kinds of skills and subjects outlined in the course description for each subject, because they represent the basis for the AP Examination. The best way to do so is in a year-long AP course in which the students and teachers focus on AP-level work. Some students, however, have taken strong courses and/or have studied in-depth on their own. Such students may be able to perform quite well on the AP Examination. The following AP exams have been offered at Genesee Intermediate School District on behalf of the local districts:
Testing dates for the 2009-2010 school year are May 4-22, 2010 (see schedule). You may contact your high school counselor for more information on the AP testing program. Answers to many questions regarding the AP testing program may be found at http://www.collegeboard.co. For more information regarding AP testing at Genesee Intermediate School District, please contact Penny Clare at (810) 591-4427 or via email at pclare@geneseeisd.org.
