Genesee County Regional Spelling Bee

Genesee County Regional Spelling BeeGenesee Intermediate School District (GISD) is the host site for the countywide spelling bee for grades 4-12. Contestants must have participated and won the spelling bee in their local district prior to competing at GISD. The purpose of the spelling bee is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives.

This year's competition will be held February 9-19, 2010. (See schedule.)

The winner of the 5th-8th grade competition goes on to compete at the 80th Annual National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. GLC Trophies, the Elks Lodge and the Flint Journal support this program.
