Employers are seeking professionals in the automotive industry with a background in electronics and computers, as well as communication, math, and problem-solving skills. This program, which can be taken for one or two years, incorporates the fundamentals of the Automotive Service Excellence/National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) certified curriculum. Instructors hold Automotive Service Excellence certification. The course covers NATEF maintenance and light repair standards in brakes, steering and suspension, electrical, and engine repair. Students will also learn shop orientation, shop safety, tool knowledge, and more, and participate in a work based learning experience. Your own transportation to the work based learning experience location is required.

Medium Heavy Duty Truck Tech.jpgMedium/Heavy Duty Technician
In this one-year program, students will work on major brands of engines and equipment including Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit, and others. The diesel engine, because of its durability and fuel efficiency, is the preferred engine for medium/heavy-duty trucks, buses, and other large vehicles. As more freight is shipped across the country, additional trucks and corresponding truck repairers will be needed.
