GISD Annual Website Reporting
Fiber Optic and Cable Equipment Data
GISD, as an individual member of the GenNET consortium,
has the responsibility to maintain equipment at each of its buildings
to ensure minimal technical requirements are met. Every day, GenNET supports
over 500 computers and 250 telephone lines, with 700 connected instruments
within GISD's system. During fiscal year 2007-08, GISD purchased
equipment upgrades for its individual buildings. Often, GISD benefits from a reimbursement
at the rate of 82% from the Universal
Service Fund for E-Rate eligible expenditures.
