GISD Annual Website Reporting
(As Required by PA 413 of 2004)
Introduction
This Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) Annual Report is a welcomed opportunity for the GISD to communicate with the community about how it utilizes resources to serve students. The spending decisions support GISD's mission to provide leadership, programs and services that complement and enhance the efforts of constituent school districts in extending educational opportunities to all students.
GISD has a proud tradition of responding to the needs of its constituent school districts in strategic ways that impact learning in Genesee County. Through solid collaborative relationships with its member districts and numerous community partners, the breadth of GISD’s services are evidenced throughout the community.
GISD’s budget and corresponding services are structured in response to its Teaching, Learning and Service Plan (TLSP). The current 2006-2011 TLSP is drawn from the parameters of the Michigan School Improvement Framework and integrates the findings of community-wide studies and the relevant contributions of school and community members.
The goals of GISD’s TLSP represent a continued commitment to quality programs and services. The five major goals and supporting objectives were completed by a team of GISD staff, constituent educators and members of the greater Genesee County community. GISD’s goals continue to focus on improving student achievement and performance, providing cost-effective, collaborative services to our constituent districts and taking a leadership role to ensure that GISD services and programs are fulfilling the educational needs of Genesee County. The major goal areas are:
- Learning for Success
- Leadership for Learning
- Staff Development
- Communication and Community Relations
- Technology and Information Management
GISD is confident that through its TLSP, its organizational structure, and the corresponding programs and services it provides, it will continue to set a high standard for serving the needs of its constituent districts and preserve its tradition of being a superior regional educational service agency.
