GISD is pleased to welcome a new member to its Board of Education. During a public meeting held on Monday, September 16, 2024, the board selected Rafael C. Turner as the new GISD Board of Education Trustee.

GISD is excited to announce the launch of a new website, www.BeyondGrad.org. This website will provide area residents, ages 14-26, with access to resources to help them plan for their future.

The Genesee ISD is hosting a Teacher Open House at Elmer Knopf Learning Center on Friday, September 20 from 9:00 -11:00 a. m. and 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the GISD, engage with our students, explore our facilities and resources, and discover ways we support your career.

GISD is currently accepting applications from those interested in becoming a member of the GISD Board of Education. A seat has become available with the recent announcement of Larry P. Ford’s retirement.

Congratulations to Mr. Larry Ford, our longest-serving Board of Education member. After 48 years, Mr. Ford has announced his retirement from the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) Board of Education, effective September 1, 2024.

Planning for college, being awarded scholarships, and receiving financial aid is a process! Many seniors are hoping to attend college in the fall after graduation, but they need help staying organized and focused when it comes to filling out college applications, scholarship applications, and most importantly, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
