Career Technical Education Opportunities

The Genesee Career Institute (GCI) Career Pathways class is a partnership between GCI and Genesee Intermediate School District’s Special Education Services. It offers a unique opportunity for students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Participants in the GCI Career Pathways program engage in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) experience while receiving transition services. Eleventh and twelfth graders can earn high school credit while gaining skills in workplace readiness, job exploration, and self-advocacy. They also learn about local employment options and Genesee Career Institute programs.

To participate in the program, a referral process must be completed by the Special Education staff of the student’s local district. If selected, the student will attend one of the three GCI sessions for the duration of the school year.
