Opportunities for Retirees

As a result of Public Act 147 of 2023 that was signed into law on October 10, 2023, retired public school employees may now return to work in one of two ways.

  1. Retirees may return to work 30 days after the effective date of their retirement but may not earn more than $15,100 in a calendar year. After six months there is no earning limit.
  2. Retirees may return to work after six months with no earning limit.

The Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) has many available full-time and part-time positions that are ideal for retirees or former educators wishing to return to work.

  • Transportation Aide
  • Substitute
  • Custodian
