Early Childhood Kickoff Draws Big Crowd

Our early childhood programs held their annual Enrollment Kickoff event at the Flint Children’s Museum on Sunday, March 1, 2026. They welcomed families from across Genesee County for a day of learning, connection, and fun.
The free, county-wide event brought in 453 participants, including 35 first-time museum visitors, demonstrating strong interest in early childhood programs and resources.
In partnership with Early On, Early Head Start, Head Start, GSRP, SKIP, Healthy Schools Healthy Families SNAP-Ed, and Flint Kids Read, families explored literacy activities, received nutrition information, and connected with programs serving children from birth to age five.
Each child received a free book and snack, and 31 families completed interest forms onsite, with additional submissions before and after the event. The event’s success highlights a shared commitment to supporting young learners and helping every child get a strong start.
