Meet Lisa Whitson, a dedicated and compassionate professional who has been making a difference at GISD for nearly two decades. Lisa will celebrate 20 years with the district in March 2026, a milestone that reflects her deep commitment to supporting students and collaborating with teams across the organization.
Throughout her time at GISD, Lisa has served in several impactful roles, including School Social Worker, Consultant for Behavior Support, Behavior Consultant, and most recently, RESET Liaison. In each position, she has demonstrated a strong passion for helping students with challenging behaviors reach their potential. Known for her problem-solving skills and persistence, Lisa continually looks for new ways to meet students’ needs, even when solutions seem out of reach.
She values the sense of belonging she has found at GISD and the opportunities the district has provided to learn, collaborate, and grow. Through her involvement in various committees and departments, she has built meaningful connections across the organization and contributed to the district’s shared mission of helping students thrive.
