Inside Education Episode 6
What does it really mean to be career ready in today’s world? That question is at the heart of this episode of Inside Education!, where host Eddie Kindle explores the growing demand for skilled careers and the hands-on opportunities available to students at Genesee Career Institute (GCI).

The episode features a conversation with Jason Carlisle, Principal of GCI, along with two current students, Brian and Cadence, who share how Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs provide meaningful, real-world learning experiences that prepare students for life after high school.

GCI offers a wide range of CTE programs designed to help students explore interests while developing practical, industry-aligned skills. Principal Carlisle emphasizes that being career ready extends beyond technical training to include problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and the confidence to apply learning in real-world settings.

Brian, a Computer Science student, and Cadence, a Mechatronics student, describe how their experiences at GCI have supported their growth both inside and outside the classroom. Through hands-on projects and guided instruction, they have strengthened technical skills, built connections with instructors and peers, and gained confidence in their abilities.

The episode also highlights the increasing demand for CTE programs across Genesee County. Principal Carlisle shares how GCI continues to respond by expanding programs, strengthening partnerships, and investing in staff who are committed to student success.

For students and families considering Genesee Career Institute, this episode offers insight into the value of hands-on learning and how CTE can open doors to future opportunities. Tune in to Inside Education! Episode 6 for a closer look at how GCI helps students build skills, confidence, and momentum for what comes next.
