Greater Flint Educational Consortium
About Us

The Greater Flint Educational Consortium (GFEC) is composed of CEOs from Genesee County K-12 school districts, the Genesee Intermediate School District, and the following Genesee County colleges/universities: Kettering University, Mott Community College, and UM-Flint.
Founded in 1988, the consortium provides a forum for examining issues of educational significance and initiating cooperative endeavors. Recognizing that a quality education system benefits the entire community and its image, the GFEC Board of Directors works cooperatively with local districts, post-secondary partners, and community organizations to develop and implement cooperative efforts, including the Writing Committee, the Math Committee, and the Future Teacher Symposium, which facilitate sharing of information and resources to improve student success, and pursue quality and equity of educational opportunities for all members of our community.
