Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Completing the FAFSA is the most important step in getting money for college. It is the only way to access the Michigan Achievement Scholarship and Michigan’s Community College Guarantee. Types of aid include grants, scholarships, loans, and work study.

Genesee Opportunity (GO)

The Genesee Opportunity stipend is free money for high school seniors! This stipend provides all seniors who live in and attend high school in Genesee County money for college, career training, or certification licensing fees.

Michigan Achievement Scholarship

Michigan students who recently graduated from high school may be eligible for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship. Students can receive up to $5,500 per year for five years - that is $27,500. Complete the FAFSA to see if you are eligible!

Michigan’s Community College Guarantee

Through the Community College Guarantee, all recent Michigan high school graduates can earn a skills certificate or associate degree tuition-free at their local community college, regardless of income! An additional $1,000 bonus is available to Pell-eligible students. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to access this funding.

Michigan Reconnect

Through the Michigan Reconnect program adults age 25 and older can earn their degree or certificate tuition-free at their local community college.
