Meet Up and Eat Up logoCurrently breakfast and lunch meals are free to all students in those programs. Additionally, the Michigan Department of Education offers Meet Up and Eat Up Summer Food Service Program meal sites that provide meals for children 18 and under regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. There is also a provision for students up to age 26 with disabilities enrolled in recognized educational programs.

Wellness Policy

The GISD Board of Education recognizes that good nutrition and regular physical activity affect the health and well-being of students. GISD’s Board Policy #8510 - Wellness addresses goals to help enable students to establish good health, healthy nutrition, and physical activity.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
