Various money symbols, bills, and coins surrounding a graduateFree Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®)

The single most important step you can take to get money for college is to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). The FAFSA is the gateway to more than $150 billion in college grants, work-study funds, federal student loans, state aid, as well as many scholarships.

A new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is coming soon! The FAFSA is being overhauled for 2024-2025. It is branded as the “Better FAFSA” because changes are being made to create a shorter, more simplified form along with other improvements. As a result, there is a delay in the launch of the new FAFSA until December 2023 (instead of October).

Students and parents are encouraged to create their FSA ID ahead of time. The FSA ID is required to complete the FAFSA.

Filling out the FAFSA is key for getting money for college and career training!
