How to Apply

Start by going to the FAFSA website or download the free myStudentAid iOS app or android app.

To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, the following information is needed:

  • A Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID.
    • The FSA ID is a username and password that gives you access to Federal Student Aid’s online systems and can serve as your legal signature.
    • Create a FSA ID
  • Your Social Security number.
  • Your federal income tax returns and W-2s.
  • Your bank statements/investment records (if applicable).

To be eligible, you must reside in Genesee County, Michigan or on a property that is taxed by a Genesee County school district and be a graduate from a high school in Genesee County.
